13-15 FEB - Share a Peranakan Valentine’s evening of Southern Thai romance with Chef Aum and Chef Aon at The Siam Tea Room, Asiatique The Riverfront

Bangkok, Thailand, January 22, 2026 – The Siam Tea Room, the elegant dining destination at Asiatique The Riverfront, invites couples to celebrate Valentine's Day with an evening of waterfront romance and Peranakan-style Southern Thai cuisine, overlooking the Chao Phraya, Bangkok's “River of Kings.”
For three nights only, from February 13-15, Chef Kanaporn “Aum” Chanjerdsak, the culinary icon from the acclaimed Ji Aum restaurant in Trang province, will come together with Chef Anukool “Aon” Poolpipat from The Siam Tea Room to craft a mesmerizing, multi-course set menu, influenced by the local ingredients and diverse cultures of the Malay Peninsula. Diners can also meet Chef Aum and chat about her inspiration, influences, and passion for Peranakan cookery.
Together, Chef Aum and Chef Aon – two proud ambassadors of Southern Thai cuisine – will use authentic produce sourced from Thap Thiang Market in Trang to transport guests on a gastronomic journey to the Malay Peninsula, with a series of shared dishes that evoke the flavors and fragrances of this exotic, heritage-rich region.

Having been greeted with a glass of sparkling wine, couples can feel the romantic ambiance as the sun sets over the city and soft lights sparkle on the river. The epicurean adventure then commences with a duo of enticing appetizers: raw fish salad with toasted sesame seeds, and “Golden Cup” – stir-fried jicama with dried squid, sea shrimp & pickled vegetables. A sublime soup of smoked duck & pickled mustard greens then follows, stimulating the senses.
A selection of main courses is perfect for two lovebirds to share. Diners can experience vibrant Peranakan flavors and fresh ingredients from land and sea, with dishes including blue swimming crab claw curry with vermicelli noodles, stir-fried tiger prawns with lemongrass, shrimp paste & cashew nuts, braised pork belly with soybean paste & potatoes, Pachriyanat grilled pineapple curry with quail’s eggs, and stir-fried mixed vegetables with glass noodles. This enchanting evening then concludes with mixed desserts, including sweet potato, taro & sago in coconut milk, and Thai crispy rolls.
For lovers of fine Southern Thai and Peranakan-style cuisine, or couples seeking an evening of heartfelt food and riverside romance, The Siam Tea Room promises a serene setting to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
The “Romantic Peranakan Kitchen” with Chef Aum is available exclusively from February 13-15, 2026 (18:00 – 20:00 hrs), priced at THB 2,800++ per person, including a glass of sparkling wine.
Inspired by Thailand’s cultural heritage, The Siam Tea Room is a refined and romantic restaurant set in a two-story wooden building with indoor and alfresco seating areas, a private dining room and views of the Chao Phraya. It is easily accessible by road and river, including shuttle boat services from the pier next to Saphan Taksin BTS sky train station.
